“I’m here (and being taken care of by the one and only Mikaela Shiffrin ❤️‍🩹)…patched up…thank you so much for all of the messages. I’m grateful for all the words of love and support. This sport can be brutal, but I still love it.”

Tough break for Norwegian ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde who took a nasty fall at the World Cup downhill race in Wengen, Switzerland on Saturday. Kilde was airlifted from the course and unfortunately he will be out for the rest of the season.

Here is the word from Norwegian Alpine skiing team doctor Marc Jacob Strauss:

“Aleksander has had his shoulder dislocated and a cut in his calf. He has no fractures, but is bruised. The season is over, the ski season is over. Now we’re aiming for that he’ll be ready for the next season.”

Kilde is recovering and in good spirits and was able to smile for a picture with his girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin from a hospital bed. Get well soon buddy!
