Somewhere in the middle of battling the cold and avoiding polar bears during a three week journey deep into the frozen fjords and ancient hallways of Baffin Island, Noah Kuhns and Luke Hinz scored one of the awe inspiring lines I’ve witnessed in a while. The pair hoofed it up a couloir covered in literal blower powder and skied a run that looks straight out of Caradhras from Lord of the Rings. Not sure how many features like this can be found on the fifth-largest island in the world but I’d love to find out. If their goal was ski the most striking couloirs on the planet I would say they succeeded.

“My friend Luke and I spent a month on Baffin Island this past April. We camped for 24 days together out on the ice. On the banks of the fjords towering couloirs cut their way through the rock, disappearing into the sky. This rugged and beautiful landscape holds some of the most incredible ski descents imaginable. We travelled over 130 miles on foot together. This film doesn’t even begin to tell the story, but I’m happy to get to have the opportunity to share it with you.” -Noah Kuhns
