Not sure how we missed this video from the 2022-23 season, but it’s definitely worth sharing.
In the midst of Little Cottonwood Canyon’s historic winter, YouTuber WorthFPV captured UDOT doing avalanche control last March. The ginormous slide near Hellgate slams all the way down the Canyon and nearly crashes into the homes. Please note that this was done with prior permission from UDOTAVY, and YOU SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE USING A DRONE OR GO OUTSIDE DURING INTERLODGE.

Video Description: ***PLEASE READ*** I was able to get this shot with permission from Udotavy while also accompanying Udotavy personnel with the cooperation of the Alta Marshal’s Office. This was done while the Town of Alta was in interlodge and would be ILLEGAL for anyone to be outside during this time. None of the buildings were hit by this avalanche.
