The Chilean ski season has been off to a slow start, but some recent snowfall has increased the snow depth, including at Portillo. Arguably Chile’s most famous ski resort, it’s known for the Laguna Del Inca, stunning views, steep terrain, and the Hotel Portillo.

This week, SkiBoyNY captured what the skiing at Portillo is currently like. The video below captures the skiable terrain at Portillo, what pistes and lifts are closed and open, the experience at the Hotel Portillo, and when they expect the heavier snowfall to arrive. He even captures a small avalanche.

In spite of the chalky conditions, Portillo still looks like a nice place to visit.
