“We’re projecting that the coaster is going to see approximately 40,000 people through the course of the summer.” –David Martel

In an effort to attract more summer visitation, Canyon Ski Resort in Alberta, Canada has installed a new alpine coaster set to open on May 20th.

CBC reports the new ride travels 524 feet down same path previously used as a luge run. Riders can expect speeds up to 25mph but you can go as slow as you please if you pull back on the breaking lever. At the bottom riders attached to the t-bar and pulled back up the ski hill on the closed loop track. The whole experience costs $25 and takes less than 30 minutes.

The construction costs were $1.3 million dollars. The resort anticipates 40,000 people to ride the coaster over the summer months. At $25 a ticket that conveniently works out to $1,000,000.  Sound investment if their projections are accurate. MORE INFO HERE
