Lee Canyon, located an hour outside of Las Vegas, is rolling the dice on another bonus weekend of skiing.
After announcing a closing date of May 7th last week, the Nevada ski resort is now expecting to run the Bluebird chairlift again on May 12th, 13th, and 14th. They dedicated the season extension to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, who are currently trying to make a run for the Stanley Cup. Tickets will be $25 on Friday, and $29 on Saturday and Sunday. This follows a weekend where they picked up 1-2″ of snow, bringing their season total up to 266″.
It’s one of the changes we’ve seen so far from Mountain Capital Partners, who are the new owners of Lee Canyon. The growing Southwest ski resort company is becoming known for extending its season at many of its resorts, which have included the Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head, Purgatory Resort, and Willamette Pass. They’ve also introduced the Power Pass at Lee Canyon, which allows skiers to access mountains across the Southwest. Kids twelve and under, along with seniors seventy-five and older, can get a season pass for free.
It’ll be interesting to see what other changes Mountain Capital Partners bring to the Las Vegas ski resort in the future.
