Colorado is known for its world-class ski resorts and offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in North America. But it may soon be known as the one place where a ski lesson is mandatory for anyone who wants to hit the slopes.

If you’re planning to make turns in Colorado next season, be prepared to have your skiing critiqued by a professional. Starting next season, the state will be enforcing a mandatory ski lesson for all skiers and snowboarders regardless of ability.

The bold move will ensure that everyone on the hill is familiar with the skier code and what trails they should be skiing on.

Some skiers are applauding the move, while others feel it’s a cash grab by the ski areas. “There is a lot of sloppy skiing going on out there.” Says Bob Smith, “This is a great way to ensure that Colorado slopes are safe.”
