It takes a real legend to create a pair of snow blades that are almost better than what’s currently on the market. Fortunately, Maine’s most iconic skier, the incredibly Donny Pelletier, was up to the challenge with these friggin’ beauties.

There’s no competition better for highlighting ski blade skills than the Pain McShlonkey, which took place over this past weekend at Palisades Tahoe. Donny busted out his shop skills to create one of the sketchiest pairs of blades I’ve certainly ever seen, cutting pair of Fischer skis and caulking them back together so their a good bit shorter (plus adding a killer lift kit for… speed, I guess?).

He did ride the blades at the Pain McShlonkey on Saturday and took first place in the competition. Hopefully we’ll get even more footage from the competition in the coming days.

I can tell you very confidently that this speed demon makes me proud to be from Maine. Donny, if you’re reading this, hit me up the next time you’re in Colorado, let’s do some hardcore blading together.
