Snowbird, Utah is the only ski resort in North America with a tunnel to allow for skier traffic, but they’re much more common in Europe.
The longest of these tunnels is at Silvretta Montafon Ski Area, Austria.
The Hochjoch tunnel is a whopping 476m (that’s 1,561 ft.)!!!! For context, that’s more than twice as long as the Peruvian Tunnel at Snowbird.

It’s a slow and mellow ride, but it’s pretty dang impressive, right?
The tunnel is part of the longest run in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, totaling 12km (nearly 7.5 miles) long!!
