Mexico’s Prince Hubertus von Hohenlohe has quite the resume. Businessman, photographer, pop singer known as Andy Himalaya and Royal Disaster and 20 time participant in the World Alpine Skiing Championships.
NBC Sports reports Hohenlohe skied but failed to finish his one run in Thursday’s qualifying and one run in Friday’s medal race in Meribel and Courchevel, France…but he looked damn stylish doing it.
Hohenlohe made his World Cup debut in 1981 has competed at every world championships since 1982 except when he missed the 2007 Worlds with a broken leg. He also holds the distinction of the oldest Olympic Alpine skier in history by 10 years where he competed for Mexico.
A little background on Von Hohenlohe, his noble status is somewhat questionable as his royal descendants come from a German kingdom that crumbled over 200 hundred years ago but he chooses to go by the royal title. Also, he is only one-eighth Mexican and grew up in Austria but was born in Mexico, giving him the right to compete in the Olympics for his birth country.
