“We are really excited for the future of Silverton Mountain and our second chairlift that will access phenomenal terrain!”– Aaron Brill, Founder of Silverton Mountain.

The future is looking bright at Silverton Mountain, as one of the most challenging ski areas in North America is adding a new lift. The chairlift will service terrain that wasn’t directly accessible from Lift One beforehand. They are aiming on installing the chairlift as soon as this summer. The type of chairlift has yet to be specified by Silverton. In addition, ten overnight chalets and another lift, are planned on being added in the future. These plans were approved by the original permit from San Juan County.

The new chairlift was announced in lieu of their 2024 season pass sale. The $199 Base Area pass gives access to various unguided days throughout the season, along with having a $39 add-on for a heli-skiing day. That’s a pretty solid deal for some of the best steep skiing in North America. You can learn more about the Base Area Pass here.
