Kirkwood Mountain Resort posted a photo earlier this morning showing that Chair 6 was damaged by high winds yesterday.
It appears that metal and glass on the chairlift’s upper terminal was ripped completely off.

7:35 | Lift Update
Due to the strong winds we experienced yesterday, Chair 6 will be down today for maintenance with no current ETO.
Don't forget to thank our Lift Maintenance Team for all the hard work they do! pic.twitter.com/sIgUS7UPGE— Kirkwood Conditions (@KWconditions) January 24, 2023
The chairlift will be closed for maintenance with no estimated time of reopening.
Kirkwood has seen 376 inches inches this season, but the storms have brought strong winds.
We’ve seen lift closures and delays at Kirkwood, and at ski resorts across the Lake Tahoe region, throughout the season.
Let this serve as another friendly reminder that wind holds are for everybody’s safety.
