KIRKWOOD, California – While the season might have started out a bit dreary, it sure seems like things are going well now. Lake Tahoe’s Kirkwood Mountain Resort has officially extended it’s season, setting a new closing date for Sunday, April 28.

That’s right – you still have time to clock a few more days, stack up the vert, and work on your goggle tan. We’ll share more details about operations soon, but we plan to stay open daily through the end of our now *extended* season, so long as Mother Nature allows. For now, let’s enjoy the freshies Old Man Winter delivered this weekend!” – Kirkwood Mountain Resort

The two week season extension comes after the resort gained 29 inches of snowfall over the past seven days and three inches in the past 48 hours. Kirkwood’s current base depth is 111 inches, and they’ve received a total of 327 inches this season. All this and another storm headed in this weekend are sure to make for some killer spring skiing.

Kirkwood is scheduled to host a Freeride World Qualifier Challenger Series event on Monday, April 1, with athletes competing on the Legendary Cirque for points towards Freeride World Tour entrance.

We’ve also got a full stack of spring events coming up, so make sure to check out the events calendar on our website – link in bio.
