Caldor Fire in Northern California grows, forcing thousands to evacuate - CNN
Caldor Fire

The Caldor Fire is one of the largest active wildfires in the U.S. having burned 143,000+ acres since it began on August 14th. The fire is only 12% contained, and officials have added new evacuation orders as the blaze rages on.

Ski resorts Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are within just a couple of miles of the active blaze, and locals are hoping that the resorts are spared. The fire is also threatening to drop into The Lake Tahoe Basin which would cause thousands to have to evacuate.

Take a look at the screenshots from Sierra’s webcams. So scary.
