Constructing new lifts has not been an easy process for ski resorts lately. Many mountains have yet to open their new lift projects for the 2022-23 season.

For Catamount Mountain Resort though, located in Massachusetts and New York, tried to open two new lifts during the 2021-22 season, but faced supply chain issues, which delayed their opening to the 2022-23 season.

On Saturday, they opened the first new lift. The Catamount Quad replaced the Catamount Double chairlift. The lift, which is a refurbished chairlift by refurbished Garaventa-CTEC, originally was at Holiday Valley, and services begginer, intermediate, and advanced terrain.

Next up on the to-do list is the completion of the Glades Triple, which will help reduce the load that the Summit Quad typically faces. This chairlift will service beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain.

Other offseason improvements included a new trail from the summit (Homeward Bound), two new magic carpets, a new snow tubing park with a magic carpet, snowmaking upgrades, a new website, and added night skiing to two more trails (Mountain View and Upper Promenade).
