We posted just yesterday that Mikaela Shiffrin won her 78th World Cup event in the giant slalom at Semmering, Austria on December 27th. It was Shiffrin’s first GS win since Courchevel in 2021.

Due to a reschedule from a cancelled event earlier in the season, Semmering hosted another day of GS races, and Shiffrin won AGAIN.

Shiffrin now has 79 career world cup victories putting her just 3 behind Lindsey Vonn, and 7 behind Ingemar Stenmark for the most all-time.

Shiffrin is competing in the slalom at Semmering today (12/29/22), and is poised to take the treble in what would be a historic week of ski racing.
