Coyotes aren’t necessarily known for their ability to scale cliffs.

They’re agile and quick creatures, but they don’t certainly don’t possess the rock scaling abilities and balance of a mountain goat.

The video below shows a coyote falling more than 50 feet from a cliff into a lake.

You can see that the coyote gets himself in a precarious position and eventually freefalls into the water below. He makes a big splash, but miraculously survives and swims back onto the cliff to try scaling it again.

*Pay attention to the top of the frame at the beginning of the video to watch the coyote falling. It’s hard to see as he blends in with the cliff.*
