Looking to head to the mountains from Denver but don’t have a reliable car? Sick of having to get behind the wheel after a long day of skiing in the Rockies? Take a ride on the Winter Park Express!

Winter Park‘s popular ski train will continue operation for the 2022/23 ski season beginning on January 13th, but you can book your tickets now! Tickets start at $34 for adults and $17 for children ages 2-12 (for one-way trips), running Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until the weekend of March 24-26. Skis and snowboards count as carryons, and gear can be stored for the ride during boarding.

The train departs from Denver’s Union Station at 7am, arriving at the mountain at 9am. In the afternoon, the train leaves Winter Park at 4:30pm, arriving in the city at 6:40pm. Riders can enjoy a beautiful view from the large windows in the train’s wide recliner seats, and the Sightseer Lounge offers panoramic views on the top floor and café services downstairs.

Winter Park is currently open and, on Friday, December 2, the Mary Jane territory will open with three lifts. Mary Jane is set to see brand new terrain open in the Chutes area, while The Cirque Territory will feature even more skiable acreage than previous years, nearly doubling the mountain’s expert terrain. If you’ve never been and want to check it out, or you plan to make a trip up there anyways, consider taking the train.
