“We are pleased to welcome Angela back to Vail Resorts as our new CFO. Angela is a strong leader with deep experience in our industry, a passion for our sport, and a long history with our company.”Kirsten Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of Vail Resorts.

After Vail Resorts Chief Financial Officer Michael Barkin announced in July that he would be stepping down, the ski conglomerate has been searching for his replacement. Vail Resorts announced yesterday that Angela Korch has been hired as the new Executive Vice President and C.F.O. Michael Barkin will remain in the position until Dec. 22, 2022, which is the date that Angela will officially fill these positions. Michael will leave Vail Resorts on January 1, 2023.

Angela’s experience in Finance dates back to her educational background. She got her Bachelor’s in applied economics and business management from Cornell University.  She then earned her M.B.A. in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.

Before joining Vail Resorts in 2010, she was an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Muzinich & Company. During her tenure at Vail Resorts from 2010-2020, she worked under Michael Barkin. She had various leadership roles while there, including Vice President of Corporate & Mountain Finance. During her time there, she enacted financial and capital allocation strategies, transformed core processes, and played an integral role in the integration of 32 mountain resorts.”

She left Vail in 2020 to become the C.F.O. of  CorePower Yoga, where she “helped the company navigate through COVID-19-related challenges, raise capital, and return to studio portfolio expansion.”

Angela Korch said the following in the press release to PR Newswire:

“It is an honor to return to Vail Resorts, a company that has played such an important role in both my professional and personal life. I am passionate about the company’s mission and business strategy and excited about the direction Vail Resorts is headed under Kirsten’s leadership. Michael has built a strong finance organization, and I am excited to have the opportunity to lead this team, and learn from them, as we jointly pursue ambitious business objectives in service of all our stakeholders.”
