I know all of our friends in southwestern Colorado have been impatiently waiting for the resort ski season to start, but fear not friends! The time has come.

Purgatory Resort, located near Durango, CO, will officially kick off the Winter ’22-23 ski season on Saturday, November 19th.

First chair will load at 9AM with complimentary pancakes being served from 8:30AM-9:30AM.

Here’s more details about what to expect for opening day at Purgatory:

“New this season, Purgatory has expanded snowmaking coverage to include lower Paradise to the midway loading of Needles Triple (Lift 6), allowing the resort to open more high-elevation, early-season terrain. As of Nov. 16, Purgatory has a base depth of 20 inches.

The terrain is suitable for intermediate to advanced skiers and riders, with no beginner terrain currently available. Purgatory plans to open more terrain and lifts as conditions allow.”

Seems like Purgatory has a lot of big things going on over there.

Might be time for the Unofficial Networks crew to pop on down to the San Juans this season to check it out for ourselves… 🤔
