Timberline Lodge, OR opened for the 2022-2023 season just last Friday, November 11th. Skiers and riders flocked to the iconic ski resort on Mt. Hood to kick off the season in Oregon.
Unfortunately, just three days later, Timberline announced that they’re temporarily suspending ski area operations due to conditions.
Here’s the full caption that was posted to Facebook to announce the decision:
“Ski area operations are temporarily suspended. It was a great opening, but the conditions are not holding up and we need more snow. The forecast at the end of next week looks promising. Please stay tuned to our website and social media for the most current updates. We look forward to seeing everyone back as soon as possible. Hotel and retail outlets remain open and will operate on regular schedules.”
Bummer all-around for Timberline, but it’s still very very early in the season. Here’s hoping they’ll be able to get the ball rolling on winter again soon!
