Palisades Tahoe, CA has been the grateful benefactor of 39 inches of snow over the last 7 days, and that’s allowing the resort to open early!

Palisades Tahoe will open four days earlier than planned, and will welcome guests on Friday, November 18th.

Here’s the details on opening day lifts, terrain, and hours:

“Our operating hours will be 9am-4pm, as usual, and we plan to be open daily for the winter season, weather & conditions permitting.”

“Gold Coast and Snoventures chairlifts will be open. The Funitel will also be running to access the upper mountain, but Mountain Run will NOT be open. The main Gold Coast run will be open, as will the main Snoventures run. There likely will not be terrain park features on Opening Day, but we hope to add a few by Thanksgiving.”

Seeing ski resorts across the west open early is so refreshing.

We’re still a long ways away from skiing here in the east, but I’m getting some vicarious comfort that my friends out west are enjoying an exciting start to the season.

To all of you heading up to Palisades next Friday- have fun! Tell somebody you’re the best skier on the mountain for me.
