“We usually pride ourselves on getting open by Thanksgiving and this year we were fortunate to open Nov. 4.” –Brian Head GM, Marilyn Butler

Great news for all you Utah skiers and snowboarders, yesterday Brian Head Resort announced it will open this Friday, November 4th for what is believed to be the earliest opener in Brian Head history and the second earliest ever for the state. Salt Lake Tribune reports Brighton Resort, which usually is the first resort to open in Utah, claims the earliest opening day as October 29th back in 2004.

Brian Head received 17 inches of snow from last week’s storm. Another 23 inches is expected to fall at the resort between Wednesday and Friday. With natural snow combining with manmade efforts and a base elevation of 9,600 feet (the highest in the state) Brian Head will have more than enough to start spinning Navajo Express, a high-speed detachable quad, by the end of the work week.

Get them skis and boards waxed all you Utahns…opening day is just 4 days away!
