Today is apparently National Dog Day, and a couple of ski resorts in the American west is using it as an opportunity to show off their heroic avalanche rescue pups.

While I still don’t really understand how these ‘National (insert something random here) Days’ are created, I’m not complaining about this one.

Also, there seems to be a little bit of confusion in these posts. It seems like some ski resorts celebrated ‘National Dog Day’ last Friday, and some are celebrating ‘International Dog Day’ today.

Who cares, right? Any excuse to look at pics of dogs is a good one in my book.

The only complaint I have is that more ski resorts haven’t posted pictures of their pups. Send this article to them and use the hashtag: #unofficialnationaldogday and we’ll add it here in the article!

Check out the best photos of avalanche rescue dogs shared by ski resorts from around the country. There are some A1 good doggos in these pics.
