Summer can be a rough time for individuals who live to ski. I certainly spend a significant period of the warmer months watching ski films while dreaming of the slopes (and writing about them), hoping winter will come early this year. But every year, generally in August, the first glimpses of the upcoming ski season start to shine through, and my summer sadness begins to slowly fade away. Those glimpses come in the form of movie trailers. September will present us with the movie premiers, and October will give us the opening of the first few resorts, but August is where the stoke really begins to reshape itself (if it ever actually went away).

Is Teton Gravity Research technically our competitor when it comes to blogging? Yes, yes it is. Does Teton Gravity Research put out some of the best, if not the best, ski movies each year? Yes, yes they do. ‘Magic Hour’ premiers in Teton Village on September 17th, and from there will make its way across North America over the next few months. If you’re interested in attending a premier, dates, times, locations, and tickets can be found here.

Get hyped ladies and gentlemen, ski season approaches.

“Magic hour is not so much a particular time a day as a culmination of powerful moments in some of the most beautiful, wild places on the planet. For 27 years, Teton Gravity Research has been searching for the right place with the right crew at the perfect time to experience life at its fullest.

Between the thrill of the hunt and the peace of floating down a mountain, the sum of our experiences becoming greater than its parts is what we seek. If you ask us, our annual snow film Magic Hour is just that.” Teton Gravity Research
