Marmots are one of many animal species that need to lick salty rocks and other surfaces to obtain essential minerals for survival. The video below shows a French climber being used as a salt lick by a friendly marmot somewhere in the Alps.
It gave me a good laugh, but I don’t think I’d willingly let a big rodent lick my face, ya know? Maybe it’s just me…😂
