Cardona Alpine Resort experienced a bit of pre-season snafu after staffers were unable to access the New Zealand ski resort due to the access road getting blocked by a massive dump of snow.  Thankfully plows eventually arrived and were able to clear the way for resort employees to begin “The Big Dig” to get the facilities prepped for what will sure to be an epic opening day tomorrow.

All signs pointing to truly historic kick-off to the 2022 Kiwi ski season with snow totals around the island’s resorts measuring well past the meter mark. Nothing like a getting nuked just before the lifts start spinning but be aware there’s likely tons of hidden debris under that fresh coat so maybe reserve the new powder skis until the snowpack settles in a bit. Cheers to an epic start of the winter!
