If you’ve been watching all of the coverage of the recent flooding in Montana and struggling with how to be proactive and contribute to helping the situation, consider donating the this newly setup relief fund.  Officials with the Greater Gallatin United Way and Park County Community Foundation set up the Southwest Montana Flood Relief Fund to support the communities effected in Park and Madison counties and other parts of southwest Montana that were hit hard by the flooding and will need immediate resources for cleanup and rebuilding efforts. The goal of the fund is to streamline support and get help to the areas that need it the most. The fund has already raised over $350,000. DONATE HERE.

This funding will go towards supporting immediate needs like:

-Temporary shelter, food, water, medicine, clothing, etc.
-Food replacement (fridges and freezers that lost power)
-Supplemental income
-Vehicle damage or loss
-Home repairs, mitigation of flood damage, and cleanup
-Other flood-response needs yet to be identified

A new fund, the Southwest Montana Flood Relief Fund – Serving Park and Madison Counties, has been created to support communities affected by the severe flooding in Park County, Madison County and other areas of Southwest Montana. The funding will provide support for immediate needs like emergency shelter, drinking water, food, clothing, food replacement from lost freezers and refrigerators, and will also help with clean-up and rebuilding efforts.
The creation of the fund is a joint effort between the Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW) and Park County Community Foundation (PCCF) to streamline support and focus it to the areas of our region that need it most at this time. Those wishing to help people most impacted by the flooding in Southwest Montana are encouraged to donate to this fund.
In less than 24 hours, the fund has received over $350,000 in initial seed funding thanks to the generosity of Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Deborah Erdman, Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, in conjunction with Montana Rail Link, Willow Creek Ranch, Yellowstone Club Community Foundation and others.
