“Oh my God! Okay, it happening. Everybody stay calm… Stay f***ing calm!”– Michael Scott

Yesterday, Vail Resorts announced their fiscal 2022 third-quarter results, along with some of the projects that they will be working on for the 2023-24 season. Attitash is planning to replace their infamous Summit Triple with a high-speed quad for the 2023-24 season, pending U.S. Forest Service approval. The current Summit Triple takes around sixteen minutes to reach the summit, and suffers frequent mechanical breakdowns, resulting in some hilarious Facebook comments. This follows the replacements of the East-West double chairlifts with a fixed-grip quad, which will open during the 2022-23 season.

The move may be in order to shore up public support for the project. Vail Resorts has been struggling to get their employee housing project in Vail, Colorado built, and their new lifts in Park City are currently facing an appeal that could delay their completion until the 2023-24 season. This project has been long-awaited by the local community though, so I doubt that it will get rejected. Cheers to Vail for putting some money into Attitash!
