A Florida man was killed by an alligator in Largo, Florida last week. The man, now identified as 47-year-old Sean McGuinness, was reportedly retrieving lost disc golf discs in a body of water that is adjacent to a disc golf course.

WFLA News Channel 8 is reporting that McGuiness was repeatedly warned numerous times to stay out of the water at the course. He was reportedly homeless, and made money by retrieving lost discs and selling them back to their owners.

WFLA News Channel 8 has the full story in the video below:

Look, I get pretty damn pissed anytime I lose one of my discs in the woods or in water. But, I would never, and I mean NEVER, willingly jump into a body of water infested with gators to retrieve one.

I understand that McGuinness was doing this to earn money to survive, but surely there had to be a better way? I don’t know. I guess the whole story is just sad.

That’s how most stories are on the internet these days, right? Sad.
