Beartooth Basin Summer Ski Area (Wyoming) just announced that they’ve made the difficult decision to not operate this season. The ski area hinted a couple of weeks ago that the snowpack might not be deep enough for operations, and it appears that their fears have become reality.
Beartooth Basin is known for being the only ski area in North America that is only open during the spring and summer.
“We worked, we worked, but in the end, Mother Nature did not cooperate with our wishes. Beartooth Basin will not operate for spring 2022. The Basin is set for a maintenance year. Have an awesome spring, a sweet summer, and here is to hoping to see each one of your smiling, sun-tanned faces at Beartooth Basin in 2023 and beyond!”
Bummer, bummer, bummer.
I was really looking forward to seeing the annual clips of people skiing at Beartooth this spring, but I guess we’ll just have to wait until next year.
Kudos to all of the employees at Beartooth that gave it their best shot.
