The US Coast Guard are some badass individuals.

Imagine your job description includes having to repel from a helicopter to a sailboat in the open ocean to rescue distressed sailors.

It gives you a whole different perspective on what constitutes as a stressful work environment, right?

The video below shows Coast Guardsman rescuing four sailors 100 nautical miles south of Long Island Sound. It should be all of the proof you need to know how badass these men and women are!

“On the evening of May 8, ASCC was dispatched to the scene of a disabled sailing vessel 100NM south of Long Island Sound. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the vessel had been de-masted by a rogue wave, injuring all four crew-members. Battling heavy seas and challenging hoisting conditions, our MH-60T crew effectively rescued all four individuals. Here is the footage to tell the tale!”
