We posted earlier this week that Alta Ski Area enjoyed 31 inches of fresh snow for their closing weekend. Some skiers described conditions as the best of the season, but Alta is forced to close based on their operation agreement with the US Forest Service.
Sounds like a bummer, but I’m sure the uphill community is stoked that they’ll have whatever is left of that fresh snow to themselves for the rest of the spring.
I’ve done my best to compile the best clips and photos of conditions over closing weekend at Alta.
It’s still kind of hard to believe that these were captured between 4/22-4/24, and not in the middle of February. (I know that’s cliché to say, but clichés are clichés for a reason, ya know???)
Have clips or photos from closing weekend at Alta?

Closing day 2.0 was special. First because of all the killer pow and great skiing. Second, and more importantly I was thrilled to see and ski with a bunch of my @AltaSkiArea family: @ozskier @adambagelboy @Photo_John, Pat, Mike, and Earth Jacobs. What a cool bunch of ski pals. pic.twitter.com/jcZM1So3Dj
