“We decided to divide the master plan into two phases mainly because we were struggling to find staff. We’ve been trying to partner with our local homeowners to rent their places, but we are finding difficulty finding six-month leases and year-round leases, and so to be able to handle that, we are just going to build our own dorm room.”– Brian Kelley, Quechee Club’s General Manager

The Quechee Club in Vermont is mostly a private homeowners club for golf and other sports, but its ski area is open to the public. WCAX reports that a multi-million dollar construction project will soon begin that will add new pivotal facilities to the Quechee Club. The biggest announcement is the construction of a sixteen-room employee housing building. This is essential in the Quechee and Woodstock area, where affordable housing is hard to come by. A new base lodge had been announced beforehand, but it has been delayed. Their current base lodge is pretty nice, but it’s far away from the slopes and hard to reach if you’re shredding.

Other plans include a racquet sports complex, recreation building for camps, new Lake Pinneo facilities and snack bar service.” No timeline has yet been given for this two-phase construction project. I’ve had some solid days shredding at the Quechee Club the past two seasons, so I’m looking forward to seeing the new changes come to fruition.
