As pond skim season is full swing we want to remind participants and spectators alike to remember that these fun and festive annual traditions can be seriously dangerous as evidenced by this incident last year in Pennsylvania. Last April at Seven Springs Mountain Resort a skier lost control and hit two people standing in the crowd. The skier was the last of the day and was attempting to hit it switch but veered off course, broke through a fence and clobbered two spectators. They were both taken to local hospitals:

“At our annual end of season pond skim event, our last skier of the day lost control and skied off the course, broke through a fence and hit two spectators. Our ski patrol swiftly attended to them. The spectators were taken to local hospitals. Our entire Seven Springs family extends our thoughts, prayers and support to all those involved.”

Be safe out there folks.

Stay safe out there this pond skimming season.
