A bit more than a week ago I wrote that it was time to get incredibly hyped for The Nines’22. I said it was pretty darn likely that there would be some firsts in the ski or snowboard world, and we’ve already posted about the first frontside triple 1260 landed by a woman, which was immediately followed up by the second-ever women’s cab-triple 1260.

Well, now there’s another first to celebrate. To conclude the incredible week, Japanese snowboarder Hiroto Ogiwara, who’s only 16-years-old, landed the world’s first backside 2160. I’ve never been disappointed by Nines footage in the past, and that almost certainly still stands.
