One of the closest ski resorts to Vancouver is getting a new quad chairlift. Cypress Mountain announced their Sky Chair(a fixed-grip double) will be replaced by a Doppelmayr quad chairlift. Named the SkyQuad, the lift will feature a loading carpet and be a quick four-minute ride. The Sky Chair debuted at Apex Alpine Resort in 1968 and was then moved to Cypress in 1987. The Sky Chair services the Mt. Strachan summit and will access intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain. Construction will begin in April, and the lift will open for the 2022-23 season.
