The 2021-22 season marks the 25th anniversary for the Telluride Mountain Village Gondola. The gondola, which was built in 1996, connects the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village for passengers in 13 minutes, a trip that would take at least 20 minutes in a car. It exists as the only free aerial transportation system of its kind in North America.

To celebrate the anniversary, the town of Mountain Village hosted a party with live music, food, and champagne. A short documentary was also released, which opens with discussions surrounding the gondola from a radio show in the 80s. It also features a large amount of information relating to the functionality of the gondola and how it was built. I have no idea if this is a popular opinion, but I love those kind of facts…

To be completely honest, I really want to try riding the gondola after watching this video. It looks like a very peaceful and beautiful ride.
