Red Bull Raid Registration Starts Today, Weather Window Pushed Back

By

Red Bull Raid is considered to be the only freeride event in the United States that blends endurance uphill ski mountaineering with technical downhill big mountain riding.

The even is hosted annually by Palisades Tahoe, and registration has just opened today. You can sign up to participate in the event here.

Red Bull Raid also announced that they’ve pushed their weather window back by about a week. Multiple storms are expected to dump some much-needed snowfall on Palisades Tahoe in the coming weeks.

The new weather window for the competition is: March 16-18th.

What is Red Bull Raid?

Red Bull Raid is the truest test of a mountain athlete. The only event in the world that combines uphill skill with downhill mastery, Red Bull Raid is part hike-your-line sufferfest, part big-mountain freeriding. The event is split into two evenly weighted sections–the ascent and the descent–with 200 points up for grabs per section based on speed and style with competitors racing to see who can climb to the summit quickest while still having enough left in the tank to truly send it on the downhill. The end result? The most complete snowsports competition in the Sierra.”
