Ever wonder what Stowe was like before all the modern houses, base village, and new lifts? This vintage video was made by Stowe’s Ski School as part of Interski 1969. Interski is a ski school convention that is held every couple of years, as the next one will be held in Levi, Finland in 2023.  It gives some pointers on how to ski, plus the instructors show off some sick moves. The video, along with a video description via Zeitzeuge is below:

“This film was made in Aspen, Colorado during INTERSKI 1969, a meeting of the best ski instructors of many nations that takes place every three years. Among those present is Professor Stefan Kruckenhauser, the Austrian “father” of the technique of “Wedeln”. Zeno Colo and a host of other famous ski racers past and present are among the invited guests, providing a historic retrospective of skiing and its development since its early beginnings.”
