Indy Pass partner Black Mountain in Jackson, New Hampshire will not operate this workweek. The mountain will stay closed until Saturday due to numerous positive Covid cases among staff members. Most ski resorts are short-staffed, and this definitely applies to Black. From their job openings page, there are tons of positions that still need to be filled. With these positive cases, it was likely impossible to get the mountain running for midweek operations.

Before this closure, the mountain had five trails open that were served by two lifts. Frankly, the conditions won’t be that great this week anyways, as a freeze over from the weekend’s rain will make the snow a solid sheet of ice. Having the snowmakers work on the finished terrain and expand upon their work will help improve conditions. The mountain is expected to reopen on Saturday and hopefully will see some fresh snow on Friday.
