Gus Kenworthy is one of the most well-known freeskiers on the planet. He won a Silver in Slopestyle at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, has won multiple X Games medals, and is considered to be one of the first openly gay winter sports athletes ever.

Kenworthy recently shared the news with his Instagram followers that he’s suffering long-term side effects from a recent breakthrough COVID-19 diagnosis. Kenworthy was fully vaccinated.

He’s regularly experiencing dizziness and nausea whenever he elevates his heart rate, and he recently suffered the skiing equivalent of the “twisties” during a training run at Copper Mountain.

He’s asked his followers to send him some advice, and is taking some time off from the upcoming Dew Tour events in an effort to recover.

We’re wishing all the best to Gus. Hopefully he can get better and qualify for his third winter Olympics.
