Indy Pass Partner Sunrise Park Resort has dealt with some hardships lately. For one, the Cyclone Chairlift, the Apache Peak Lodge, and the Sunrise Park Resort Hotel were all closed last season. According to 12 News, the ski resort also delayed its opening from December 3rd to December 10th due to a lack of snow. But the good news is a lot of improvements have been made to improve the guest experience. For one, the stunning Apache Peak Lodge at the summit will reopen this season thanks to renovations. The Sunrise Park Lodge will be reopening in January 2022 with limited guest services, as repairs to the hotel are ongoing. Another option that will have more amenities available is the Hon-Dah Resort Casino, which features a casino, year-round pool, restaurant, and live entertainment.

The Cyclone Chairlift, which hasn’t operated for a couple of seasons, is planned on being reopened next season, and a future replacement is being discussed afterward. The Cyclone area will be open this season thru-hiking and snowcat access. Other improvements include an online daily snow report, new menus at their restaurants, and updated digital ticketing procedures. Sunrise Park Resort is a sleeper in the state of Arizona, but based on the terrain and local attractions, it should definitely be on your bucket list.
