Deron Verbeck was diving off the coast of Hawaii’s Big Island taking pictures of ulua fish when he had the encounter of a lifetime. A 15′ great white shark was staring at him dead in the face, and all he could do was hope that she wasn’t hungry.

Verbeck told KHON2 News that he originally thought the shark was a tiger shark, but he quickly realized it was a great white as she got closer.

He posted the original unedited video to his Facebook page which I’ve embedded below. You’ll also find the video of his interview with a local news station following the original clip. Such insane footage!

Vid of the Day: “Raw and Uncut”

Ok, here’s the unedited version of my vid that has already been circulating, but I figured some of you may not be able to see it.
I was out to shoot some other type of fish in super slo-mo so I had the gopro set to 120 fps so bare with the gaps and the poor shooting style. As soon as I figured out what I was looking at I digressed back to being a photog. lol”
