“A vertical kilometer is about pure performance, its not about technique or strategy its is just about how much your engine can work.” –Kílian Jornet

You might know you’re personal best for 5k or 10k but how about the VK? Vertical kilometers can completed on any inclined terrain, from the extremely steep which is slow going to the more gradual which is faster but longer. Follow along with Spanish runner Kílian Jornet as he travels to the west coast of Norway to find the ideal spot to break the fastest known time “FKT” of a VK held by Philip Gotsch which is under 29 minutes. My lungs are burning just watching this dude, his gas tank is simply unreal.
