Praying for snow has long been an integral part of fall. Skiers and snowboarders do a little dance, burn some old skis and say a prayer to Ullr, all in anxious anticipation of flakes flying soon. For years, they may have even ordered a keg of 10 Barrel Brewing’s Pray for Snow Ale to spice up their offering to the Norse god of winter. Now, however, Pray for Snow (the beer) is no more. It’s been retired to the great hall in Valhalla.

With its retreat to craft beer heaven comes a new beginning. One that includes the multi-award winning Pray for Pow, the return of 10 Barrel Brewing’s famous Pray for Snow Parties and hopefully big dumps for days.

Award Winning Beer Becomes the New Winter Seasonal

Pray for Pow represents not only a new beginning, but a change in beer style for this release. In fact, it’s the first change in 10 Barrel’s winter seasonal in over 10 years. Based on an American Stout recipe originally created by brewer Shawn Kelso, Pray for Pow is one of 10 Barrel’s most award winning beers.

10 Barrel Brewing is no stranger to winning awards for their beers. They have won many and in multiple beer categories. Pray for Pow is no different.

Well, it’s a little different.

This recipe has won more than 10 medals in judged competition, including multiple medals at the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival. That makes Pray for Pow 10 Barrel Brewing’s most award winning recipe ever.

A Tasty Beer With a Good Cause

There is no wonder why Pray for Pow has won so many awards. With notes of dark chocolate, coffee, citrus and berry it packs an immense amount of flavor. Combine that with it’s 7% ABV and Pray for Pow that will certainly warm you up after a day of face shots.

Good flavor is only the beginning. Pray for Pow is also a part of 10 Barrel Brewing’s #drinkitforward campaign. Therefore, a portion of every Pray for Pow sale benefits Protect Our Winters. So not only will you be drinking a good beer, you’ll be drinking for a good cause too.

New Winter Seasonal, Same Great Party

Pray for Pow may mark a new beginning for 10 Barrel Brewing’s winter seasonal category but one thing still remains. They still know how to throw a damn good party.

If you know anything about 10 Barrel former winter seasonal, Pray for Snow, you know that it came along with some pretty epic parties. For a decade prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pray for Snow parties were legendary.

Now their back!

Welcoming the winter season with the Pray For Snow Parties at the various 10 Barrel Pub locations is a right of passage. This year the beer may be different, but there is no doubt that the accompanying party will have you stoked for winter.

The Boise brew pub kicked off the Pray For Snow Parties on October 30th, Bend gets down on November 13th, and Denver brings it home on December 4th. If you happen to be anywhere near those locations be sure to hit one up and drink some Pray for Pow from the tap as you summon Ullr and get him to fill our mountains with fresh pow this winter.
