Mount Joy Snow Resort in Alberta, Canada is likely a ski area that you have not heard about. Located twenty minutes outside of the city of Lloydminster (on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan), the resort just celebrated its 55th-anniversary last season. The mountain features sixteen runs and two surface lifts(t-bar and a rope tow). This offseason, Mount Joy Snow Resort has improved its beginner skiing experience. Their rental shop building has been renovated to clean out the space, along with snowmaking techniques enhancements. The beginner’s slope(Bunny Slope) has been regarded to provide an easier skiing and riding experience on the slopes. It was 15-20 degrees in slope, compatible with the other portions of the mountain. It has now been regarded to eight degrees. The trail was very steep on the sides, so regrading it prevents the risk of a serious injury for newcomers to the sport. A magic carpet could come in the future as well. A video from CITL CKSA [Prime Time Local News] that details the changes is below.
