Italian company TechnoAlpin specializes in snowmaking products. Their catalog includes products like snow guns and complete snowmaking solutions. They also offer what they call the SnowFactory, a mobile, self-contained snowmaking system that resembles a shipping container. If this sounds sweet, you would be correct.
The SnowFactory is delivered to a ski area fully assembled. The innards of this unit contain everything from system controls, water and air compressors, and lots of fancy screens. It also comes with software to control the SnowFactory.
This unit isn’t intended to replace a ski hill’s snowmaking system. It is designed to boost productivity and enhance quality. According to TechnoAlpin, the quality of snow it produces is top-notch. The snow is designed to melt more slowly than other snowmaking systems and can be produced in a wider range of temperatures. Pricing isn’t readily available. There is a good chance that Santa won’t bring you one for your backyard.
