Anybody else fascinated by waterspouts like me? No?

Well you might not find them as cool as I do, but you can’t tell me that seeing a water tornado spin in the open ocean isn’t at least somewhat interesting.

This particular waterspout was filmed off the coast of Florida back in September, and it’s one of the larger ones I’ve ever seen. Would be pretty neat to have a beach day interrupted by one of these weather phenomenon, in my opinion.

What is a waterspout? Definition according to NOAA:

Tornadic waterspouts are tornadoes that form over water, or move from land to water. They have the same characteristics as a land tornado. They are associated with severe thunderstorms, and are often accompanied by high winds and seas, large hail, and frequent dangerous lightning.
