With the latest Bond flick set to hit American theaters Friday, it’s an excellent time remember when Palisades Tahoe’s legend, Rick Sylvester, sent it for the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. The Bond SkiBASE has gone down in movie history as a quintessential Bond moment.

Eon executive Charles Juroe said that at a screening attended by Charles, Prince of Wales, the ski BASE scene was electric. “I have never seen a reaction in the cinema as there was that night. You couldn’t help it. You could not help but stand up. Even Prince Charles stood up.”

Fun Fact: It was Roger Moore’s favorite Bond film.
